Continuing our Behind the Scenes series, we took a chance to sit down with Troy Baker (Talion) and Alastair Duncan (Celebrimbor), to discuss their experiences creating Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor.
Take a look now, and get some first peeks at brand new scenes from the game!
5 Ways One Does Not Simply Walk Into Mordor
The power of the Wraith has amplified Talion's abilities, and granted him many more. Among those, his ability to navigate the world has changed significantly.
Here are a few ways you won't be simply walking into Mordor.
No matter the elevation, the powers of the Wraith have granted you the ability to leap from higher heights than any mortal could. Whether you're escaping a fight, you're dropping down on an unsuspecting foe for a kill, or you're departing one of the mysterious towers hidden around Mordor, you won't have to slow down due to a cumbersome descent.
Using Celebrimbor's speed, Talion will now be able to make his fleet feet far more capable than ever before. As you spend time mastering your abilities and growing your strength, you'll…

Shadow of Mordor Comic Con 2014
A trip to a far-off land, discovering natural beauty on the go. It sounds like a plotline taken straight from Tolkien's work, but this time it was my very own turn. My trip took me from Belgium to Los Angeles and San Diego for Shadow of Mordor's Comic Con event. A journey I won't lightly forget any time soon.
First of all, what did I see and what did I hear? I participated in two main events. First was the Wikia Fan Express, a trainride from LA to San Diego where Shadow of Mordor was showcased. This event also allowed GlòinTheGreat and me to ask a couple of questions on a livestream. For this, we gathered a bunch of questions from the Wikia community and asked them to Michael de Plater directly. This entire Livestream can be viewed right h…
Wiki Quality
Hello everyone!
I would just like to make some things clear for new users & veteran users alike. I'm sure most of these things you will not even notice when doing them, but it is essential that you pay attention & use the preview button.
Countless times I have been required to go back & edit grammatical errors, & it gets very tiring after a while. I will not hold it against you unless you are acting carelessly, as some errors that are made are not related to grammar or anything similar to that, but instead to continuity throughout the wiki. One such example of this, which I see many veteran users making mistakes in, is the gallery section. Although not plainly obvious to see at first, we do not end captions with full stops. They are captions,…
SDCC Shadow of Mordor Panel Review
GlóinTheGreat Here!
So how did everyone enjoy the new trailer? What where your thoughts and reactions? Like most of you guessed the identity of the Wraith is Celebrimbor! Im excitied to hear your reactions to this release! It adds so much more lore to SoM and was a great idea in my personal opinon. If you pay close attention to the trailer you can see and hear that Talion is struggling with what he wants to do i.e. get revenge or let it be. It seems as though Celebrimbor is arguing with Talion to go seek revenge for the murder of his family. Another intresting topic is the fact that there will be somewhat of a grey area here. Depending on the route you take to complete the game, different outcomes can occur! More details on that TBA. We als…
New Story Trailer: The Bright Lord
For many, many moons, you dedicated Wikians have debated the identity of the Wraith in Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. And today, during our panel at San Diego Comic-Con, his identity was revealed!
Did you guess the Wraith's identity? What more do you want to learn about his past?
5 of the Many Ways This Fight Could End
An Uruk Captain is staring you down. He's called you out, he's ready to fight, and he's got no qualms cutting you down to size. One of the memorable fights made possible by the Nemesis System is knocking at your door, and it's time for you to make a choice; How will you finish this fight?
You've got a bevy of combat options at your disposal. Between Talion's sword, his dagger, and the Wraith's bow you've got a number of alternatives with which to take this Captain out, should you wish to take the direct route.
Depending on what you learn about this Captain, there's a chance that he might be vulnerable to a certain monster within Mordor. By utilizing said monster's bloodlust, you might be able to bring one to your aid to kill the Captain. But…

Thoughts on how the nemeses system can be used in the future
Hi there.
This is truly a remarkable step for next gen. I personally didn't think to see anything like this for at least 2 years! I am so surprised that it is also coming to previouse gen just a shame it didn't come when I was playing it :D This is something that knowone has done before because (well my guess is) it requires a lot of work but its going to pay off!! Playing safe won't get you anywere.
But what I really wanted to know was if there is no sequal (hope there is) how will the nemises system carry on as obviously Talion is a very one of a kind character that has had has the right to die taken away from him, so when he dies in game it ties in that he just respawns and time moves on. But for any other character if you die you have to…

6 Things You Need to Know About the Nemesis System
In Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, the world around you is a living, breathing entity due to the Nemesis System. Every action you take will be catalogued by the foes you stand against, and will become a fundamental part of your gameplay experience, ensuring that no two playthroughs are the same.
During E3 we showed it off to the world in spades, but we wanted to give you a quick rundown of some of the options that await you within the borders of Mordor.
The Uruk of Mordor are the bread and butter of Sauron's army. They are the core of his forces, and, in time, they will be yours, as well. But, you're not just going to wade through wave after wave of nameless grunt. These foes have personalities, just as much as you do. Some are cowards. Some …

Rejected by Gondor
This idea popped up in my head a while back, but could Talion potentially be rejected by Gondor at the start of the game?
Like, after the invasion over at the Black Gate happens and Talion along with his family is slaughtered, he wakes up, wraith inside of him and all, and he tries to go back to Gondor. Only the wraith starts acting up/they found his dead body before, and is ultimately rejected by his kin aswell.
I dunno, thought it could make for a neat little moment at the start. Sort of like the way RDR started.
What are Monolith's/Warner Bros plans for the wiki?
I've been here for 2 days at best, but one thing that really surprises me is Monolith are actually involved with the Wiki and there is even a dedicated app for this. This got me thinking, what exactly is the scope of their goals for this wiki? like, how far reaching an integrated will the app be with the wiki?
Trying to gather almost every nemesis trait and its goin well
After finding about 10 Strengths and 5 Weaknesses I feel satisfied and I'm still searching through pictures and walkthroughs and variouse trailers.
I'm also very excited for the release for I have known about the game for almost as long as this wiki has been up.

So how is it that Talion is able to have Wraith abilities when he has not lost his humanity or been under the control of Sauron? Does this not go away from the lore or was there some aspect of his Wraith ability that I was unaware of?

Why i love Gaming (PS1-PS3)
I remeber back in the days when i played Crash Bandicout on the PS1..then there was the Crash Bandicout 2 then 3 then Tag Team Racing but i played many over games apart from that! Going to the PS2 and playing games like Age of Empires 2, then Star Wars Episode III then The Lord of the Rings games and playing those games was what lead me to reading the books and watching the films so it set part of my future for loving LOTR and The Hobbit. I loved the PS3 and it in the later years of playing it i became familliar with one the gaming franchises that is one of my favorites to this very day! that is the Batman Arkham Games!
Seems silly but when Arkham City came out i had no idea that a game before that existed! And then on a awesome October day…
My Approach To Hunting Orcs.
Agun 20:45, May 9, 2014 (UTC)
If i was a Orc hunter in Mordor, i would not go the whole stealthy approach to killing. My fighting style is going for upfront full on melee attacks which would start a fight instead of a instance like you see in a stealth game where the target is isolated. If i had the option to let a orc go free...i would BUT hear me out!!!
Say that i was Aragorn at Helms Deep and the main gate is under fire and in the films he and Gimli go through that back door..but i wouldn't go for a skyhigh approach! jump on top of them! can't be that painful..well there is a 30% that i will miss the bridge and fall to my death but you gotta take some risks in life :)
Here is a small table on the likely percentages that i would do stealth …
Riot Among the Orcs Theory!
I got this idea after watching the gameplay walkthrough where after Ratbag stabs Orthog then all the orcs start fighting each other, i had the feeling of rioting among the orcs in parts of Mordor which gives Talion the oppurtunity to gain more minions hence building his forces behind enemy lines!
So Talion is stealthaly moving around Mordor when he hears orcs screaming at each other so Talion goes near the area to investigate where the noise is coming from when he see's a massive riot throughout the village, two different factions of orcs so Talion see's it as his oppurtunity to kill one of the leaders then dominate the other so then he controls one of the factions!
OR!!!
Talion kills both the leaders of the two factions and he then tells the…
